Ryan Gosling admits BTS Jimin wore Ken's outfit the 'best' in Permission To Dance MV, gifts a guitar

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of the Barbie movie, Ryan Gosling recently apologised to BTS member Jimin in a video. On Thursday, Barbie movie's official Instagram page shared a video of Ryan with the caption, "Had to give Jimin this (guitar) for his KEN-RGY! (*previously recorded*)." In the video, he said, "Hi Jimin, it’s Ryan Gosling here. I notice that your ‘Permission to Dance’ outfit is the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie. I have to give it to you — you wore it first."

He further said, "You definitely wore it best, and there’s an unspoken Ken code that if you bite another Ken’s style, you have to give them your most prized possession. I hope you’ll accept Ken’s guitar as my humble offering. And besides, Ken doesn’t really play anyway, so… it’ll be much better in your hands."


For unversed, in BTS' Permission To Dance music video Jimin aka Park Jimin and Ryan Gosling's Ken in the Barbie trailer wore the western-rodeo style statement shirt, features white tassel fringes on the sleeves and torso, detailed white floral embroidery, front button closures, and full-length sleeves.

Jimin paired the outfit with black denim pants that had side slits, accessorising with statement bracelets, hoop earrings, ear cuffs, rings, and a side-parted hairstyle. On the other hand, Ryan opted for a white cowboy hat, a gold buckle black leather belt, a printed pink neck scarf, white boots, and a striking blonde hairstyle when wearing the shirt.

Not only is this video significant for Barbie x BTS fans, but it is also special for Jimin who is known to have been a big fan of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams starrer The Notebook.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jimin has recently released his solo album Face and Angel, Pt 1 and 2 from the feature film Fast X.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie is the first live-action film featuring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, and other actors. The movie is scheduled to be released globally on July 21.
