LDS.org Media Library: learn, share, create

Have you ever enjoyed an image or video featured on LDS.org or shared in social media, but when you wanted to use it later in a lesson or share it with a friend, you couldn't find it?

Try browsing the LDS.org Media Library of video, audio and images.

"The Media Library on LDS.org is a resource where all digital Church media is gathered into one place to make it easy to find, use and share," said product manager Marianne Jennings. "The hope is that members can find Church media to enrich their lessons, bless their families, and make sharing the gospel online easier."

This central storage site for the Church's media resources has approximately 5,000 images and more than 2,300 videos, as well as audio, e-book, and PDF files. Most are available for download in a variety of sizes and formats for you to use in your home or calling.

Visitors to the site are welcome to download and use the media for "noncommercial, personal and Church-related purposes."

That means you are free and even encouraged to include images and embed videos in your personal blog, website, social media account or any other place you use to share gospel messages.

In fact, the theme of the Media Library site is "learn, share, create."

In the April 2013 general conference, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve said, "There are new ways to invite others to 'come and see.' Let's make sharing our faith online more a part of our daily life. LDS.org, Mormon.org, Facebook, Twitter — all provide opportunities" ("It's a Miracle").

Read the suggestions for using media at home and at Church and how to share the gospel to get you started.

Detailed questions and answers about the Media Library are found in the FAQs, but the following are a few answers to questions you might have.

How do I find the Media Library on LDS.org?

From the LDS.org menu, click on Resources and select Video, Audio and Images. Then select the media category you want to browse. You can also type “images.lds.org,” “videos.lds.org,” or “audio.lds.org” in your Internet browser to go directly to those pages.

What kinds of media are available?

All images found in the Gospel Art Book are online (select the image category Gospel Art), as well as Primary activity and coloring pages, youth curriculum videos, Mormon Messages, scripture stories and other videos for children, and much more. Because members can now submit their own media through create.lds.org, thousands of beautiful new images and other resources are available, with new items added continually.

What media can I download?

Almost all media is available for download to make it easy for you to share in a class or at home without worrying about an Internet connection. Need help learning how to download videos? See the Media Library download instructions.

How do I search for a specific video or by topic?

Videos and images are organized into categories, but recently the ability to search for videos by topic was added, a feature that teachers should find very helpful.

You can also use the search bar on LDS.org to help you locate media. Type "video faith," for example, to see a list of videos concerning faith. Or simply select "images" or "videos" from the list of search categories.

Sister Jennings said the Media Library team is always looking for new ways to improve the site for users. Future enhancements include making the site available in other languages and providing the ability to browse and group media categories in multiple ways.
